DOTERRA ESSENTIAL OILS
Founded in 2008, doTERRA was built on the mission of sharing essential oils with the world. Having seen for themselves the incredible benefits that can be had from using these precious resources, a group of health-care and business professionals set out to make this mission a reality. They formed a company and named it doTERRA, a Latin derivative meaning “Gift of the Earth.”
My doTERRA Story
Essential oils came into my life at a time I was experiencing post natal depletion, sleep deprivation, stress and other ailments in my body.
I was introduced to the oils and thought they smelt nice, a couple of months later I decided to try them for my family and I can say from there everything changed for the better for my whole family. It started me thinking and approaching my life differently.
I fell in love with the oils and friends starting buying them, based on my passion for them so I decided to bring the oils into my business.
Vision
The name “doTERRA” is a Latin derivative meaning “gift of the Earth.”
In the spring of 2008, a group of health-care and business professionals who shared profound personal experiences with the life-enhancing benefits of essential oils came together with a common vision of bringing a new standard of essential oils to the world.
They wanted something different that would appeal to all people—from those who knew nothing of essential oils, to those who were considered experts in the field.
Though doTERRA has experienced phenomenal growth, these same individuals work to maintain the culture of a small company where everyone has a voice and a place.
As part of our vision to bring a new standard of essential oils to the world, doTERRA is invested in moving the science of essential oils forward.
This department consists of PhD scientists and experienced professionals that gather scientific and clinical research, identify research needs, design and carry out studies, and prepare those studies for presentation to others. To carry out these ongoing studies, doTERRA has and continues to build relationships with research hospitals, universities, and other research organisations.
The end goal is to better understand how essential oils work—how the components in an essential oil interact, how essential oils interact with cells, how they affect people, and how they can improve our home and other environments.
These studies are typically presented at our annual Convention, then made available through other avenues. They help inform, enrich, and benefit doTERRA Wellness Advocates™ and their customers on the best uses of essential oils for the greatest good.
